Australia and Mauritius strengthen ties by reinforcing cooperation between the two countries. The island nation will benefit from the Search and Rescue Capability Program, which also extends to Maldives and Sri Lanka. This includes funding amounting to $2.6 million, training to relevant agencies and joint search and rescue exercises, explained Louise Proctor.

The spokesperson for Australian Maritime Safety Authority intervened today at the launching of this cooperation in Port-Louis. Susan Coles, the Australian High Commissioner, was also present and highlighted the strong ties with Mauritius. Namely in the development of the island’s ocean economy.
