Looking for a long-stay holiday or independent living in Mauritius? Try the newly opened five-star serviced apartments by hospitality major Centara Hotels & Resorts of Thailand.

Tourists are indeed spoilt for choice in the island economy with the first phase of the five-star Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites Mauritius, the Thai major’s first overseas serviced apartments in Mauritius, opening at the beginning of June.

Currently, 17 units are available and a further 15 units are due to open by mid-July. In all, the development will eventually total 57 serviced residences, townhouses and penthouses.

“We are very proud indeed to be announcing the opening of these luxurious residences at the beautiful marine resort of Azuri,” says Thirayuth Chirathivat, Chief Executive Officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

“They perfectly complement our five-star resort hotel and offer a superb home-from-home experience for those who wish for a long-stay holiday, or who prefer independent living,” he added.

Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites is set directly on the beach on the northeast coast of the island and is located only 25 km from Port Louis, the capital city, and a one-hour drive from the international airport.

Besides, the development is also just a 20-minute drive away from the town of Grand Baie with its sprawling malls and stand-alone outlets alike offering numerous dining and shopping opportunities.

The residential project forms part of the new Azuri oceanfront lifestyle community, which includes shops, restaurants and a yacht club with marine facilities.

With a pristine beach embraced by a sparkling lagoon, the residences will be a perfect retreat for couples and a fun place for families, offering a variety of accommodation options with two, three or four bedrooms and spacious outdoor areas, with some boasting a private plunge pool.

Each residential zone has its own swimming pool complete with terraces to relax in intimate surroundings.

“There is a wonderful sense of community here, and with the spacious and very stylish décor of the apartments, townhouses and penthouses we feel that the residences will appeal to couples, families, and groups of friends travelling together,” says Jean-Paul Martin, area general manager for Centara Mauritius.

“For leisure there is the beach and the lagoon, with about 60 different water sports and land-based activities available,” he added.

Residents enjoy the complimentary activities of sister resort Centara Grand Azuri Resort & Spa Mauritius, including water sports such as snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing and sailing, and use of the tennis court, quad bikes and other facilities.

Adventurous residents can avail a selection of adrenaline packed activities, such as parasailing, undersea walking and underwater scooters, hiking and mountaineering, canyoning, and skydiving.

Besides, Azuri Yacht Club is nearby and will arrange excursions including catamaran trips to the islands of Coin de Mire, Round Island, Flat Island, Ile d’Ambre and Ilot Gabriel.
