The Mauritius-Seychelles Business Forum & Trade Expo will be held from 24 to 26 April 2014 in Mahe, Seychelles, on the theme ‘Creating New Dynamics for Business Facilitation’.

The Board of Investment (BOI), in collaboration with Enterprise Mauritius (EM) and the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), will be coordinating the participation of the business and investment delegation from Mauritius, led by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection Cader Sayed-Hossen.

The objective of this business forum is to broaden the economic ties between Mauritius and Seychelles in areas of ICT, tertiary education, healthcare, property development, fisheries, seafood and aquaculture.

The business forum will also include 2 plenary sessions and B2B meetings and will provide a platform to investors from Mauritius to initiate contact, network and identify business opportunities in Seychelles.

Furthermore, the BOI will address the players of the Seychelles private sector in a plenary session on Investment and Trade Opportunities in Mauritius and Seychelles on the 24th of April.

After the agreement signed by Mauritius Finance Minister Xavier Luc Duval and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Seychelles, Jean-Paul Adam, on September 5, 2013, Mauritius and Seychelles appear to be on the right path towards the enhancement of both air and sea routes services to boost inter-regional trade.

Like once pointed out by Duval, “both countries should explore all possibilities and avenues for trade liberalisation, to remove impediments to and lower barriers towards free and enhanced flow of goods, services, investment, and technology within the region”.
