GFA Insurance, with the participation of the Rotary Club of Port Louis – Citadel, are promoting road safety to avoid road accidents during the end of year festive season through the campaign ‘Ey mam, vey ou fami.’

The initiative of this road safety awareness is aimed at the motorists as well as their surroundings.

‘Ey mam, vey ou fami’ means empowering families and friends of motorists so that they can take action to avoid tragedies. For instance, someone has the duty to discourage a friend or relative from getting behind the wheel of the car if the person is drunk.

“Since our auto insurance business is closely related to road traffic, we decided to dedicate our action of civic responsibility in promoting road safety, particularly during this festive period,” Abdel Ruhomutally, Managing Director of GFA Insurance, said.

He explained that the goal of ‘Ey mam, vey ou fami’ is not only to prevent fatal and serious accidents, but also ordinary accidents that cause many drawbacks, especially during this period of year.

The campaign will consist of radio and TV spots of approximately 30 seconds with safe and responsible driving messages.

Advertisements will run for 17 days on private and public radio stations as well as on the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) TV up until January 3, 2015.
