Quality, excellence and innovation are the key characteristics of Lux* Resorts and Hotels group which won it the ‘Best Hotel Group of Mauritius’ title at the second edition of the Mauritius Tourism Award 2014.

For the second edition of the Mauritius Tourism Award, given out by the tourist information website, www.ilemaurice-tourisme.info, travelers and tourism industry professionals alike cast their votes on the internet over a 6 month period to indicate the crème de la crème of the hotels in Mauritius.

Several thousand internet users voted for their preferred hotels across 15 categories, and, at the end, LUX* Resorts and Hotels group was the overall winner in the most prestigious category of the best hotel group of the year.

“We have been truly overwhelmed to have been appointed in several categories and to have been elected the ‘Best hotel of the Year’ by travelers and tourism industry professionals in the internet survey,” said Paul Jones, CEO of LUX* Resorts and Hotels.

“This award can be added to the ranks of the noteworthy prizes received so far by the group. This title serves to demonstrate the innovative customer experience and superior service offering we provide to our guests, and is a tribute to the high standards of our institution,” he said.

Furthermore, Lux* Le Morne came on top in the category ‘Most Romantic Hotel of the year’ and was ranked second in the ‘Best Spa of the Year’ category. Besides, LUX* Belle Mare was ranked second in the category of ‘Most Creative Hotel of the year’.

According to the Chief Editor of www.ilemaurice-tourisme.info, the third edition of the Mauritius Tourism Award will reward hotels across the Indian Ocean, enlarging the scope of the awards to include Reunion Island, Madagascar, Seychelles and the Maldives Islands as well.
