‘Sustainable development and Biotech’ is the theme of the third meeting between Mauritius and Reunion Island which will be held on November13 and 14, 2014, at ‘Mercure Créolia’ Hotel in Saint Denis, Reunion Island.
The agenda presentation of the two day meeting which is organized by the Club Export in partnership with ‘Chambre de commerce et d’industrie France Maurice’ (CCIFM) took place on August 28, 2014, at the Hennessy Park Hotel in Ebene.
30 companies and 10 Mauritian institutions will be invited by the European Union and the Reunion Island regional government through the Club Export.
During this third edition several activities will take place notably: conferences, B2B meetings, workshops and the site visit of different companies.
Furthermore, the objectives of these meetings are to motivate the public and private stakeholders to develop and put forward the competitive advantages of both territories in the sustainable field, favor the sharing of experience and know-how, bring forth business opportunities, encourage technical cooperation and finally capitalize on previous meetings.
The public and private players gathered during this two day meeting will also discuss on assessment but also on cooperation opportunities between innovation and sustainable development.
This platform will be an opportunity for the Mauritian company to discover the assets of Reunion Island where sites visits will allow them to see concrete projects in the field of sustainable development and biotechnologies.
Finally, for this year edition biotechnologies will be divided into five categories: yellow for environment, green for plants, blue for marine life, white for industrial biotechnology and red for medical application.
Biotechnologies answer the major challenges of our time regarding health, regarding energy independence, and more globally, in terms of sustainable development.
