President Kailash Purryag has promoted Mauritius as a country full of opportunities for foreign investment at a meeting in Mauritius with a Pakistani delegation. The latter was led by Mauritius Honorary Counsel General in Karachi, Sohail Yasin Suleman.

Kailash Purryag mentioned that the Mauritian government is providing full support and is facilitating the foreign investors, particularly Pakistani businessmen and investors, who want to set up new businesses.

“To support the foreign investors, the government will fully facilitate foreign investors, so that they will not only be able to do business in Mauritius but can also expand it all over Africa,” he said.

Due to Mauritius’ good location for business and its favourable geographical position, Pakistani investors can explore and benefit from the island’s huge potential of trade and investment.

In addition, there might be joint venture in different sectors with the improvement of trade between Mauritius and Pakistan, according to President Kailash Purryag.

For his part, Sohail Yasin expects that the exchange of trade delegation will give positive results because of their past experience, which gave access to this industrialist’s delegation to Mauritius from almost every sector.

He added that they benefitted a lot from meeting with Mauritius’ important institutions heads.

In order to boost both countries’ trade relation in the future, the Pakistani delegation was invited to participate at the MAITEX 2014 held from August 21 to 24, 2014 at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre (SVICC) at Pailles, according to Pakistan Mauritius Friendship Association President Major General (Retd.), Mohammad Sadiq.

Former president of Karachi chamber, Anjum Nisar, mentioned the joint efforts of Mauritius and Pakistan to strengthen trade and create new openings for investment and bilateral trade.

He also said that special attention on joint ventures and trade issues can help investors on both sides.

The Mauritian trade delegation has been invited by Anjum Nisar to participate in Expo Pakistan to earn benefits from Pakistani products.

The Pakistani delegation comprises of Anjum Nisar, Yahyah Polani, Abdul Rauf Tabbani, Anis Haji Younus, Mohammad Rajpar Anwar Ali and Yaseen Peer Mohammad and others.
