She is Managing Director of the PR and publishing firm Perpetual Motion, a CIPR Accredited PR Practitioner, an elected member of the CIPR International Committee, and the Founder of the CIPR network in Mauritius, which she set up in March 2019. As the only member of the International Committee based in an African country, in

2020 she fostered a collaboration between CIPR International and Africa Communications Week, and has launched a series of webinars for PR professionals at pan-African and international level on key topics including crisis communications.

Samantha Seewoosurrun commented:

“I am honoured and humbled to join the ranks of CIPR Fellows, who represent the pinnacle of excellence in the PR profession. I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to contribute my ideas and experience in the various discussions on the development of best practice in the PR industry.”

“In Mauritius, I am committed to further expanding our CIPR network and creating opportunities for PR professionals to build their knowledge and update their skills. I would strongly encourage PR professionals in Mauritius to join the CIPR, which has become a fully virtual organisation since COVID-19 and affords Mauritian PR professionals the same opportunities for professional development as those anywhere in the world. Through taking courses under the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme, Mauritian PR professionals can work towards achieving Chartered PR Practitioner Status. I am delighted to say that one Mauritian professional already attained this status in 2020, and I know that a number of our members are actively preparing to achieve Chartered Status to demonstrate their skills and value in the marketplace.”

“I will also be inviting PR professionals from Mauritius to participate in a joint webinar series between CIPR International and Africa Communications Week, which we launched last year. In 2021, our webinar series will focus on key topics and trends in PR, noting that the industry is in constant evolution with the emergence of digital and AI, among others. This will also provide PR professionals in Mauritius the opportunity to expand their own horizons and to network with their peers on the African continent and beyond.”
