Concert, food festival, conference, fashion show, book launch… Mauritians will be witness to an array of events showcasing Pakistani talents and products during the month of October.

The Pakistan Week, as it has been dubbed, will be hosted mainly at the Greenwich University Pakistan Mauritius Branch Campus from the 20th to the 25th of next month.

A book launch is scheduled for the 22nd and a 2-day international conference for the 24th and 25th.

A chef will cater to a food festival. Pakistani delicacies and specialties will be on display and available for a bite at university during the whole week.

Two famous Pakistani singers will delight music amateurs. Shafqat Amanat Ali, nicknamed the Rockstar Ustad, will be waiting on the 23rd at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre to wow fans of classical and Bollywood music. Whilst Adeel Burki will be sure to woo with his Sufi and classical music performance on the 25th, at the university situated in Ebene.

Pakistan designs will grace the catwalk that will be set up at the Sugar Beach hotel, on October 21st, for a unique fashion show.

The Pakistan Week, contends Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, will help to strengthen and further ties between our two countries, especially as regards trade. Opportunities exist, says the president of the Republic, for the manufacturing sector.

This event has been organized following her official visit to Pakistan, last April. The delegation also comprised representatives of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Board of Investment, the ministrey of Foreign Affairs and of the private sector.
