Les deux hommes ont eu un entretien téléphonique peu de temps après la prestation de serment de Pravind Jugnauth comme Premier ministre. Narendra Modi a félicité son homologue mauricien, l’invitant dans la foulée à visiter l’Inde, selon le service de presse du chef du gouvernement.
Durant leur conversation, Pravind Jugnauth et Narendra Modi ont réitéré leur « shared commitment to further strengthen the time-tested and unique relationship » entre les deux pays, écrit le Prime minister’s office indien sur son compte Twitter.
Narenda Modi n’a pas, non plus, manqué de saluer « le leadership et la contribution » de sir Anerood Jugnauth dans la consolidation des liens d’amitié entre les deux pays.
