Africa calling seems to be the theme for Mauritius tourism, and what better way to boost visibility in the continent than by making inroads into Nigeria, the largest economy in the continent.

Destination Mauritius is being promoted by major Nigerian travel agencies through a partnership between South African Airways (SAA) Nigeria and the One&Only Resort Le Saint Geran, Mauritius.

Recently, SAA Nigeria, which is a leading airline in the African continent, together with Mauritius’ first-class hospitality resort, the One&Only, have devised a 4-night Familiarization Trip to Mauritius for travel agencies in Nigeria.

Through this Familiarization Trip, Mauritius’ famous leisure and hospitality offerings, as well as its exceptional natural bounty, will be showcased to Nigerian travel agents.

According to Thobi Duma, SAA Nigeria Country Manager, the idea behind the Familiarization Trip is to expose Nigerians to the incredible warmth of Destination Mauritius, which is serviced daily from the Johannesburg hub of SAA.

“South African Airways is giving Nigerians additional options to explore and enjoy Mauritius with our daily flight from Johannesburg, which provides the perfect connectivity to the island through the over-night flight from Lagos,” Thobi stated.

Moreover, Mauritius gives Nigerian passport holders the option to get their visa on arrival.

As for Rochelle van Rosenveldt, the One&Only Resort Director of Sales for Africa, she explained that the One&Only Resort Le Saint Geran is the perfect place to relax and unwind in Mauritius because it is well-known for its long history of exceptional luxury.

“There’s only one place to feel, experience, enjoy and get soaked in the unique charm and unequalled luxury of the Island of Mauritius – the One&Only Resort Le Saint Geran,” she highlighted.

The team for the Familiarization Trip comprises the Managing Director (MD) of BCD Travels, Nigeria, Michael Otubu; MD of AllStates Travels, Saleh Rabo; MD of CGSK, Chike Osuagwu; MD of Finchglow Travels, Bankole Bernard; MD of TTL Tours, Bolaji Mustapha; Dada Oluwayomi of Tour Brokers International and Feyi of World N’ Traveland.

Winner of the SkyTrax Best Airline in Africa for the 11th consecutive year, SAA offers daily overnight non-stop flights from Lagos to Johannesburg and a daily morning flight from Johannesburg to the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport in Mauritius.

Passengers travelling from Lagos benefit from a leisurely overview of the wonders of country as they avail the SAA flight from Johannesburg to Mauritius.
