Magna Carta, one of the most important and respected agencies in the field of both corporate and individual reputation management in Africa, has extended its activities to Mauritius under the name of Magna Carta Reputation Management Consultants Mauritius, working in tandem with Mauritius-based firm, The Marketing Specialist.

Having extensive operations in South Africa; Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, Magna Carta was named the official and exclusive partner of public relations giant, KetchumInc, in 2005.

Since 2006, Magna Carta has been pursuing a well-defined expansion strategy to develop its activities on the African continent. It currently operates in 16 different countries, which Mauritius is a part of since September.

As a respected agency in Africa, Magna Carta has won more than 30 awards, with the noteworthy ones being FinWeek AdReview PR agency of the year from 2006 to 2009, as well as Paul Holmes African Consultancy of the Year in 2013.

The Marketing Specialist sent two representatives to South Africa to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Magna Carta and to sign the agreement between both agencies.

This was followed by a two-day conference where other African agencies were present as well, with the grand event designed to evoke the future of the reputation management field in the African market.

“It is a great pleasure for us to sign the agreement with Magna Carta, which is the biggest and most respected PR agency in Africa. Furthermore, it is the exclusive agency of Ketchum, which gives us access to an international footprint of intellectual property,” said Stephane Lamvohee, Head of Project of Magna Carta Reputation Management Consultants Mauritius, stated.

Vincent Magwenya, CEO of Magna Carta, said that, given the enormous success of Magna Carta in the last 20 years in the field of reputation management of some of the biggest African companies, they must now confront the future. They must also decide where they wish to be present, in line with which they are fine-tuning their strategy to expand to Mauritius and other African countries.

During the last few years, the agency has noticed a considerable change both in the way of disseminating information and in the way of consuming it, according to Sylvia Papie, Operations Manager of Magna Carta Reputation Management Consultants Mauritius.

She added that they have to adapt themselves to various opportunities and transformations that can be brought about to customers and to themselves, because nowadays they are turning towards a more digital age and an era of instant gratification, whether it is in sending out information or consuming it.

Moreover, the reputation management of companies, brands, and key individuals has known real progress over the last few years, with the recognition that reputation management is essential in the development of a company and its brands on the market, as it seeks to boost its image in the eyes of consumers and investors.

“Our services help analyze all factors which influence the reputation of a customer, whether it in a positive or negative way,” added Vincent Magwenya.

Magna Carta offers all services connected to public relations, but also integrates Investor Relations, Advanced Media Training and Public Affairs Management.

Magna Carta has in its client portfolio a large number of international companies such as Standard Bank, Engen, Deloitte, Samsung, Emirates Airlines, Starwood, Medscheme, Bonitas, Vedanta, Nissan, and Procter &Gamble.

Finally, this new affiliation is not only expected to provide Magna Carta’s customers with international expertise but also Mauritian companies which are in Africa or which want to invest, can avail the services of Magna Carta to manage their image on the African market with its extensive branch network.
