Mauritian telecommunications major Emtel aims to help businesses and entrepreneurs on the island to get access to digital technologies and enable them to start their business by using cloud technologies, with a new slew of cloud services.

Constantly innovating, Emtel launched its mobile telephone operations in Mauritius in May 1989, establishing itself as the first mobile telephone operator in the Southern Hemisphere, and has now roped in Neostratus to deliver several cloud-based services in the island economy.

For Neostratus, a leading Cloud enabler for telecom operators across the world, this is its first Telco partnership agreement in Africa, and is to be executed together with the cooperation of Bamboozle, its strategic partner in the Middle-East.

Neostratus and Bamboozle will supply Emtel with the first wave of cloud services targeted to consumers, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and corporate customers in Mauritius.

The services include Messaging, Web Hosting, Cloud Storage, Backup & Recovery and a Digital Business Suite.

Emtel will serve as an access point of digital technologies for Mauritius’ businesses and entrepreneurs with this new set of cloud services.

Moreover, SMEs and corporations will benefit from the efficiency, flexibility and mobility of cloud due to the cloud-based emailing, online backup & recovery.

They will also enjoy all the advantages of the new “Bamboozle SMACmeup” digital business suite, which is an all-in-one solution for website building, social media integration, e-commerce, promotions and contact management.

According to Patrick Swoboda, Founder and CEO of Bamboozle, the island is considered one of the leading markets on digital performance indicators.

He also stated that, with the use of Cloud and digital solutions, the Mauritian economy will reach new growth dynamics as business leaders use advanced solutions for making their businesses smart businesses.

András Tüdős, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and CEO of Neostratus, underlined that there are a lot of opportunities offered by the cloud as it can provide emerging markets with technical advantages as well as leveraging new business models which leads to innovation.

It may be noted that Neostratus is an expert in unified communications and collaboration and it is ranked as the number one cloud focus area for telecom operators across the world, according to Informa service benchmarking.

Acting as a trusted cloud broker, the company is commited to create successful cloud service providers by aggregating, integrating and customising cloud services to Telcos and Systems Integrators, thus providing value-added service ecosystems.
