The 13th edition of the bi-annual, fashion-focused business fair – Zoom by Fatex – will witness the participation of 16 Mauritian exhibitors, who will gain an unparalleled opportunity to forge links with Première Vision’s weavers from 16-18 September 2014 in France.

Companies, such as Palmar Knits, Palmar Woven, Star Knitwear, Maxiwear, Fit U, Chemiserie Bellvill, among others, from the island economy, will display their latest creations during the three days, unveiling new trends and collections from the ready-to-wear section of their companies.

Dev Chamroo, CEO of the island’s premier trade promotion agency, Enterprise Mauritius, highlighted that their objective from participation in Zoom is to strengthen their presence on the traditional markets, and, at the same time, to diversify their activities by investigating new markets, such as Italy.

According to him, France is the biggest export market for Mauritian textile products.

The exhibiting company should comply with three criteria: it should be a manufacturer and sub-contractor, should have been in existence for more than three years, and should already enjoy exporter status.

In February 2014, the show confirmed its international appeal with 59% of visitors travelling from outside France to experience what exhibitors had to offer, according to information from Enterprise Mauritius.

There will be 12 companies from countries new to the show, such as Egypt and Greece, with one exhibitor each, which will be exhibiting for the very first time.

Besides, Moldova will be increasing the number of exhibitors to 10 this year at the fair, followed by Turkey with seven exhibitors, approximately 30% more than at the previous show.

Incidentally, Zoom has now changed its strategy to feature as a flagship event in the Première Vision portfolio, having been held under the management of PV Manufacturing since 2013.

A departure from tradition will see Zoom take leave of its erstwhile venue, Hall 2 of the Paris Nord-Villepinte Convention and Exhibition Centre, to take its place in the heart of Première Vision Pluriel, in Hall 6 North-East.

With this new positioning, manufacturers participating in Zoom will benefit from synergistic communications with Première Vision when it comes to buyer invitations, advertising and promotions.

As an umbrella event convening 6 groups from the fashion world, Première Vision Pluriel is a landmark trade show, an association with which will reap rich dividends for exhibitors at Zoom.

Accordingly, Zoom, which hosts ready-to-wear, accessories and household linen manufacturers from the Euromed region (Central and western Europe, Eastern Europe, North Africa) and the Indian Ocean (Madagascar and Mauritius) region, has been in the news recently for optimising its B2B strategy and expanding its sourcing offer.

Such strategic re-thinks allow Zoom by Fatex to stay relevant as a platform for textile exhibitors to meet key decision makers such as managing directors, production managers, sourcing managers of ready-to-wear, accessories and home textiles; present their value proposition to big fashion houses; and exhibit at the unique fair dedicated to sub-contracting.

A truly international trade fair, Zoom by Fatex serves as an efficient accelerator for the ‘Pret-a-Porter’ and Accessories sector.

The top 10 visitor countries at the last edition were United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Netherlands, Portugal, the United States and Canada.
